I've been working with non-profit organizations for the last decade and a half in both artistic and management positions. I've been many things from actor to manager to educator to designer to marketer to sales staff and more. Sometimes I am full-time, sometimes part-time, sometimes a volunteer, but always involved!
In 2006, I earned a M.A. in Arts Management from American University with a course-load concentration in technology. My thesis was on podcasting for arts organizations, with a focus on non-profit theatres. Since then I've guest lectured to various audiences on useful technologies for non-profit arts organizations and contributed the article entitled “What Tech Can Do for Your Chorus” to the latest issue of the magazine, The Voice of Chorus America.
In my "spare" time, I volunteer for the National Park Service at President's Park and Community Forklift, a green building and salvage organization. I can also be found on stage with the Renaissance Revelers, a madrigal ensemble, and the Rude Mechanicals, a Shakespeare troupe. If you still cannot find me, listen for the sound of a sewing machine—I'm probably there, stitching away!
I am always looking to expand my knowledge of technology, new media, and social networking. Currently, I am the webmaster & eCommunity manager for Singer Network and Chorus America. |
